Chat photos open full screen

Tapping a photo in a chat now opens a clean, full-screen viewer.

  • Photos use the whole screen, including when you turn your phone sideways to view a landscape shot.
  • Photos load noticeably faster, and opening the same photo again is instant.
  • Swipe left and right to move between photos, and pinch or double-tap to zoom.
  • The chat viewer now matches the larger photo viewer used in albums and on profiles.

Save chat photos to an album

Organisers can connect a private group chat to a hub album.

  • Photos shared in that chat are saved to the chosen album automatically.
  • Pick an existing album or create one right from chat settings.
  • Members get a one-time heads-up the first time one of their photos will be saved, including a note about photo location data.
  • Removing a chat message also removes the photo it saved to the album.
  • Channel settings show a clear link to the album the chat is saving into.
  • Capture stops automatically if a hub’s plan no longer includes it.

Hub home shows recent memories

Hub members now see a Recent memories section on the hub home page.

  • It shows a recent album or event memory plus the latest few photos you have access to.
  • Tapping a memory opens the album or photo directly.
  • It appears only for signed-in members, and stays hidden when there is nothing to show.

Group chats get descriptions and posting controls

  • Group chats can now have a description.
  • Owners can choose who is allowed to post: everyone, or admins only.

Photos from Android phones keep their location

Photos uploaded from Android phones now keep their location details for album maps, instead of having them stripped by the phone’s photo picker. This applies to both direct album uploads and photos shared into chat.

Fewer unexpected sign-outs

When your sign-in quietly expires, the app now refreshes it in the background and carries on, instead of dropping you to a logged-out screen. This especially helps when you reopen the installed app or come back after an update.

Small but useful

  • Album downloads now only include the photos you actually have access to.
  • Clearer message when a photo is too large to upload.
  • Staff tickets no longer count toward an event’s capacity.

Behind the scenes

Scaled up servers and tuned photo handling for faster upload and display; tightened privacy, moderation, and storage cleanup around chat and album photos.
